| An elevator speech should provide a brief overview of an idea - it may define you, your business, your community, or your key concept. It should be a message that could be delivered in an elevator - prepare it for 30 seconds and be able to extend it to 2 minutes if possible. This requires that you have a 30 second sound-byte and that given the opportunity, you are prepared to extend it and keep it interesting for 90 seconds to two minutes.
