Triangle leader, Donovan Moxey will provide local business owners clues to increase their chances for success, based on his role as an experienced entrepreneur with an established track record of achievement.
Dr. Moxey is CEO of Interactive Multimedia Solutions, Inc., a multimedia software and IT solutions company focused on the seamless integration of interactive animated talking digital characters as part of multimedia, computer gaming, interactive training, multimedia messaging applications, and information technology solutions. Moxey was a co-founder of LIPSinc where he was the primary catalyst for taking the company from concept to reality and positioning the company for investment, raising $10.5m in venture capital funding. He has a solid reputation as a business leader in the North Carolina entrepreneurial community with management executives, angel investors, and regionally/internationally based capital firms.
Donovan has received a number of recognitions and awards for his impact and leadership in the Research Triangle Park entrepreneurial community. These include the CED Chairman’s Service Award, the Raleigh News & Observer’s Business Leader in the Triangle Recognition, a personal profile in Fast Company magazine, and a recipient of the Council for Entrepreneurial Development Fast Tracker of the Year and Up & Comer Awards. Dr. Moxey is a founding member of the North Carolina Initiative for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, an organization comprising influential business leaders focused on shaping public policy for the benefit of North Carolina entrepreneurs. Donovan holds a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from NC State, a Masters and Bachelor of Science degrees in Electrical Engineering from NC A&T and Tennessee State University Dr. Moxey is a graduate of the NC State Technology and Education and Commercialization Program and the Council for Entrepreneurial Development’s FastTrac® Tech Program. Dr. Moxey has worked as a member of Technical Staff with the Computer Aided Design group at AT&T Bell Laboratories. respectively.
FastTrac® is a comprehensive family of workshops and programs that help entrepreneurs hone the skills they need to create, manage and grow successful businesses. The September 11th program Listening to Your BusinessTM is created for entrepreneurs whose day-to-day responsibilities of running a business leave little time to focus on long-term vision, goals, and strategies. It gives you the tools to look at where your business is today, what you want to look like in three years and provides the steps to get you there. You will assess your business over the four hour session providing you an opportunity to
- Examine your business today, including its strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities,
- Visualize your business three years from now,
- Formulate an internal planning process to establish interim goals and strategies,
- Identify resources to assist you in reaching your business goals, and
- Examine and respond to challenges and transitions.
