DRBDC Finalist for Coveted Incubator Award |

The Dan River Business Development Center is pleased to be recognized as one of two finalists for the National Business Incubator Association's award for Mixed-Use Incubators, along with Australia's Darebin Enterprise Center. The center is even more elated to be joined at the conference by Donnie and Jackie Stevens from DVF FoodService and Scott Brooks and Charlie Fulp from One-Stop Cellular who will be recognized as finalists for the tenant and graduate awards along with the center. These awards are given to companies and incubators who exemplify the best performance among incubators around the world.

One-Stop Cellular has been selected as a finalist for the National Business Incubation Association (NBIA) 2008 Client Award among Mixed-use incubators. Representatives from 52 countries will participate in the San Antonio Conference where One-Stop will be represented as one of two companies selected in this category to exemplify the best in the world among incbuator tenants.

DVF FoodService is a finalist for the National Business Incubation Association (NBIA) 2008 Graduate Client of the Year Award in the mixed use incubator category. The international conference is scheduled in San Antonio with 52 countries participating. DVF will be presented as one of two graduates selected to represent the best in the world for exemplary performance among mixed use incubator graduates at the awards banquet on May 6, 2008.

A joint economic development initiative of the City of Danville and Pittsylvania County, the Dan River Business Development Center (DRBDC) was opened as an incubator facility in April of 2001. The DRBDC has developed the framework necessary to sustain the development of a diverse mixture of new entrepreneurs in the region, inclusive of technology businesses, research labs, distribution headquarters, professional service firms, and temporary support for transitional companies. Ownership is equally diverse with 10% female, 8% veteran, and 27% minority business owners.
